As you all know, I'm constantly getting my inspiration for blogs from information I find online. Not just websites, but news articles, research papers, and many other forms of communication. There is a great website out there called Mashable that, if you are a business major, you seriously need to check out. That said, on Mashable I found some very interesting information on a new use for social media.

We've talked endlessly about its uses in regards to marketing a product, but what about marketing yourself? The general go-to with this sort of mentality is LinkedIn, but I can promise you that employers are looking at more than just your LinkedIn account (which, if you don't have one, that's a whole different conversation we need to have). Potential employers are also looking at your Facebook (which can be locked down), Twitter (which can't), and now Google+ accounts to learn about you. All of which give you a great opportunity to market yourself.

For example, I don't just post personal pros on Twitter; I also post some tidbits of useful information about marketing and supply chain, as well. Why not use that medium yourself to talk about your knowledge? Not just that, but since most resumes these days are in the digital form, take that opportunity to get more creative and post info-graphics (like the one below), videos, and other visuals to help illustrate your capabilities.
